Oct 29. Cutty Hunk Pond, MA to Niantic Bay, CT. The winds calmed down this morning. Ximena washed her hair with nice boiling water while Vitto did a little provisioning at the only store on the Island, “The Market” is open from 0800 to 0900 and again at 1600 to 1700. Such is the pace of living on Cuttyhunk where the 40 year round residents are all related. At 0914 we got underway. In Buzzards Bay the wind was blowing NW 10 to 15 with gusts up to 18 Kts with seas at 2 ft. The temperature was 51º F but it felt like 45º F. And the visibility was normal 10 nm.
