Dear All I continue my travel blog write-up of my hugely enjoyable two-week trip through New England by writing up about my time spent in the delightful state of Connecticut in this entry. Being New England's southernmost state, and bordering energetic and buzzing New York to its south-west, I rather expected Connecticut to be busier and less New England-y than my previous destinations so far - b... I continue to enjoy following your travels...
I also love CT. My daughter and her family live in the quaint NE town of Ridgefield, so we get there frequently.

Connecticut well done
I'm glad you chose Mystic.... it is a darling town. NYC never fails to provide no matter what you do. I've only been there 3 times so you've probably seen more than us. We still have not made it to the Statue of Liberty. I will have to go to Yale University and walk around. IT sounds like this may be your favorite campus. The whaling museum is so well done. You created a wonderful itinerary.

Connecticut
Thanks MJ and Dave. I agree, Mystic is a darling town, and I just loved the Seaport Museum. I think you're right, Yale was my favourite, and perhaps its contrast with New Haven kept it more real for me. New York indeed didn't fail to provide, it is just an amazing city that has to be seen, many times indeed, to be believed! Thanks for reading my blog ?

Thank you!
Thank you Sylvia! What a lovely comment ? I had an absolutely wonderful time in America over Easter, and I'm so excited to explore more over the coming years. I hope you are keeping well, and are able to get out and about soon. All the best.

New York!
New York is so amazing! I've only been there once (for three nights), but very much enjoyed it. I also loved the High Line, and Times Square (especially at night) sure was something! The 9/11 memorial was very moving, although we didn't go to the museum. Mystic sounds like an interesting little town, and so fun that you went to Mystic Pizza!

Thanks Lori ? Indeed, what an amazing city! And there's so much to see there. Mystic was lovely, and Mystic Pizza was indeed great fun! ?

Never seen that movie
I have never seen, actually I haven't even heard of, that film before. If I get a chance I'll see it though. Going to filming locations/places featured in films can be a bit of a gamble though. Visiting Madison County and the covered bridges was so much fun. But when I tried to locate the adress in Brooklyn where the tobacco shop in Smoke was located it was disappointing. It was filmed at a different address. /Ake

Film Locations
Ah yes, I love to see film locations too. Indeed, I can understand how disappointing they can also be, especially if they don't quite live up to one's imagination.

Not the Ghostbusters Building

Ghostbuster building
Ah man I never realized it was in NYC. I should have asked my friend who I was staying with at the time as I am sure she would have helped me find it. I imagine you've seen the building they used I think in Ghostbuster II from Central Park

Ghostbusters Building
Ah, I didn't think of seeing the one in Central Park either. I may have to return to NYC to see both buildings now. So many childhood memories, lol!

Pizza
You know I think you are right about the pizza sauce. I don't really enjoy chicken on pizza yet Dominos Texas BBQ Chicken is my favourite pizza, so it must be the sauce. It is strange reading your blog about NYC as I visited the year after you last visited and the World Trade Center was finished being built and almost ready to open.

Pizza
Thanks Alan, maybe it is indeed all in the sauce. I'll have to try the Texas BBQ Chicken next time I go for a Domino's! I imagine if you visit NYC again now it'll be very different, it's such a dynamic city!
