In the morning we drove out of Moab through the red rocks to Mesa Verde National Park. Hundreds of years ago the American Indians used to live there and made houses out of mud and rock under the cliffs. They made special underground family rooms that you had to climb down a ladder into. They were very dark. They watched their wheat grow on top of the cliffs.

Next we drove to Durango. After dinner we went on the Polar Express. The Polar Express is based on a book about a boy who hops on a train on Christmas Eve and goes to the North Pole and gets the first present for the year. We hopped on a train and rode through the snow to the North Pole. The chef got us hot chocolate and biscuits and read us the Polar Express Book. Santa hopped on the train. On the way back we sang Christmas carols.
