Telluride to Denver via Ouray

I woke up to one of those famous Colorado bluebird days this day. Sunny without a cloud in the sky all day, from Telluride all the way back to Denver. I had never visited Ouray before, so I drove just a short bit South from Ridgway to see the mountains in the area. Very cool indeed.... Read Full Entry

This taken where the road South levels out again, but Silverton is still probably ~20 miles South. This shot taken looking back North toward Ouray.

Clearly I find mountain scenery easy to photograph.

Much of that stretch of road leading South out of Ouray has nothing but a very steep drop into a creek below. You go over that in your car and you can pretty much expect to check out.

This is one of the more severe drops.

The canyon that starts just on the South side of Ouray is pretty cool to look at. 2D doesn't do it much justice.

Not sure why the water was so mustard colored.

This is leading downhill from Monarch Pass, towards Gunnison.
