Latitude: 39.48788 Longitude: -107.50088 Elevation: 8044 ft. (2451 meters)Garfield Creek State Wildlife Area is located in Garfield county Colorado. From I-70 at New Castle (Exit 105), go 2 miles west and south on County Road 335 to County Road 312, and then 1 mile south (left) to the north end of the property. Parking areas are located on both sides of the road and well-marked with signs. Garfield Creek State Wildlife Area is approximately 13,172 acres (20.58 sq. miles or 53.31 sq. kilometers) and ranges from 5,556 ft to 10,532 ft in elevation. This State Wildlife Area offers the following recreational activities:- Fishing: None- Hunting: deer, elk, dusky (blue) grouse and Merriam's turkeys.- Recreation: hunting and wildlife viewing.- Restrictions: a. Camping prohibited except 7 days before start of regular big game seasons through 7 days after regular big game seasons. b. Hunting prohibited within 75 yards of centerline of County Roads 312 and 328. Hunting prohibited in designated safety zone as posted. c. Closed December 1 to July 15, except spring turkey hunting below and small game hunting above junction of County Roads 312 and 328. d. Dogs prohibited except as hunting aid. e. Bicycles allowed only on County Roads 312 and 328.
