Leaving Rawlins today we plan to stop in Fort Collins, CO. A friend of our son (Megan Aaron) lives there and we want to see her before heading home. Fort Collins is, according to one report we heard recently, the second most popular place to live in the country. On the way we spotted a Wind Energy Farm. This was a huge facility that seemed to go on forever.

Fort Collins is an interesting city where everyone seems to own a dog and a bicycle. They ride the one and drag the other everywhere they go. This is a college town with an eclectic mix of people. We spotted self styled hippies, yuppies and, intellectuals. Shops line the streets and were inundated with shoppers. Restaurants maintain sidewalk patios where patrons sit and drink their lattes or wine while discussing current political events.

We enjoyed a light lunch at Jay's Bistro on First Avenue and left Megan and Fort Collins late in the afternoon. Our destination tonight is Fort Morgan, CO. We have resigned ourselves to the unhappy (for us) fact that we are now going home and the vacation is coming
