Dallas Fort Worth airport, half way point to our trip to Denver...Dallas Fort Worth airport, half way point to our trip to Denver...Dallas Fort Worth airport, half way point to our trip to Denver...

Arrived here and found that our connection to Denver had been canceled. When we finally boarded another flight we had to sit on the tarmac for 2 hours while they replaced a screw in the wing.
We finally arrived at Denver airport after an eventful journey.
This is to be the starting point of our road trip, around the wild west and probably more.

But first we had to pick up our hire car........

Would you believe our troubles were not over!!!

We had booked and paid for a hire car for 47 days, but they had us down for 17 days!!!
Several hours later after heated discussion and many phone calls, we finally left with the car.

Now was the hour drive to Fort Collins, to stay with family for a few days.
But, the hours drive took us two and a half hours due to road works on the interstate.
After a 4.30am start that morning, we finally arrived at our destination at 6.30pm!!

This is a day we don't ever want to repeat again!!!

After a couple of days relaxing, we all headed off into the Pawnee Grasslands.
Once there, we were instructed on how to shoot real guns with real bullets.

A first for us.

Even though Skim was a good shot, she found the whole thing a bit nerve racking.
(Don't think she'll be

And there's a car show...
doing it again)

Having spent an enjoyable time catching up and relaxing with family,
we were ready to hit the road again to continue our adventure.....
