This is a post aimed at people considering vacationing to the Vail Valley, namely the resort towns of Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and Beaver Creek. It’s also going to provide some useful information to travelers heading up to Aspen. You see, for as long as I can remember, the best way to access these resort towns if you were flying in from out of state (or out of country), was to fly into Denver International (DIA) and then make ground transportation arrangements (shuttle service, car rental or bus) to continue the journey into the Rockies. While there was an alternative option available with url=https://www.google.com/search?q=eagle+county+regional+airport&oq=eagle+county+regional+airport&rldimm=9895711538060316891&rlst=f#rlfi=hd:;si:857315950850811601Eagle County Airport (EGE) , the logistics involved with this smaller regional airport just made it an unrealistic choice ... read more

My partner and I recently got back from a trip to Eagle, Colorado. We were visiting some old buddies of ours who moved from Vail to Eagle due to the rising cost of living in the Vail Valley. At the time I was still a big Vail snob (and much more ignorant being younger), and Eagle didn’t impress me much. Well this one has been a long time coming. I've been trying to gather my thoughts and get a true grasp of what has transpired over my life the last sixteen months. A fruitless effort to say the least. It is impossible to put into words (especially when you lack the talent) how special this phase of my life has been. I sought out and chased after a lifelong dream and was able to find it in the incredible places I visited and the amazing people I met along the way. To all of my friends and the strangers that gave me a helping hand when I was down and out - a big thanks. The people I met along the way really enhanced my experience and I'll never be able to repay that and most ... read more

As it was such a nice place and we still had things to do we spent a couple more days in Eureka Springs. One trip was to visit a guitar shop Graeme had spotted whilst we were walking around town. This was not as easy as you may think. A note on the window said it only opened on Saturdays from 11.30 – 16.00 unless you rang for a private appointment. We decided to go about 12, giving time for it opening late or for the morning rush to pass or some such thing. When we got there about 12ish we were a bit surprised to find it had shut for lunch, busy morning perhaps? We wandered off for an hour or so then tried again slightly concerned he may now have gone home early. Apparently ... read more
