Jeff, Liam and I visited Alcatraz in November 2004 and it was a very interesting place. There is also an interesting virtual cache there, so we decided to go again. Welcome to my travel blog! My husband Jeff and I waited six years after getting married before taking a vacation. It might have had something to do with being poor graduate students, or perhaps that we drove a 1991 Geo Metro. Anyway, we've tried to make up for it since. By the end of August 2008, he and I had been in the 48 contiguous states, as well as Hawaii. as your blogs had mentioned this several times and I had never heard of it. Sound interesting, but I don't have a smart phone.

A GPSr works, too.
We started geocaching in Minnesota's state parks, which actively encourage it, and loan out GPSrs for people to try it. It gets us outside and brings us to interesting places.
