Its was a long trip to the Harmony from vegas, we had a ton of trouble getting out of vegas and ended up in an housing estate!
The whole detour was basically to visit this motel where U2 stayed before the Joshua tree album came out.
A very quirky motel , i wish we had got there sooner so we could have had the afternoon to chill, as it was we got there at sunset but it was great having breakfast on the porch in the morning basically in the desert.
there is a big marine base nearby and we could hear explosions in the morning.
Great supermarket too, wish i had got the 1.5 litre bottle of jack daniels or vanilla rum!
from there we went into LA, massive place, we stopped by a Target shop and i got Levis for 12 and a half dollars, bargain
made our way down to santa monica and Venice, fantastic place for sunsets, got talking to some locals about Cuba and mexico, tea at wolfgang pucks fast food on the third street promenade and then off to find the Ramada where we were staying.

we turned off the road from vegas to joshua to get gas and saw this sign and had dairy queen ice cream which is nearly as bad as the stuff we had in cuba!a laundry which was great cos we could get our stuff washed!
we did universal studios the next day, the simpsons ride was amazing, went on twice!
cool looking at film sets too.
second and third days we stayed in Marina del rey which is ten mins walk from venice pier, amazing sunset again and great people watching, weather was great , was sorry to leave and leave behind our SUV, Suzie!
