I did a day trip to Yosemite from San Francisco on monday. I feel like it deserves its own blog post as it was that cool 😊
At one point a very long time ago the whole of california was covered by an ancient sea. It was the colliding of two tectonic plates that pushed one of them upwards, creating california and it's mountain ranges. Yosemite is one of these areas of rock that's been pushed up from the earth. It is mainly sedimentary rock, Granite.
So early on monday morning i got picked up at the hostel by a guy named Roman with a perfect blend of the German and American accents. Him, myself and 18 other tourists made the 3 hours journey to Yosemite. We stopped at a few places along the way, but it was pretty much a straight 3 hour drive. Some of the roads were awesome, California has some of the best roads for motorbikes in the world in my opinion.
There's not too much else to write, we did the tourist thing, stopped at viewpoints, a bit of hiking here and there and drove back. I'll let the photos do the talking.
