Checking out the sea lions. Happpy Canada Day!
Today was a very long day of riding and most challenging. We left paradise (moonstone beach) this morning and started to work our way up the coast highway - I say "work" because it seems like a workout with all the twists and turns and gearing up and gearing down. My wrist is sore from working the clutch today. We stopped at Ragged Point for an early morning latte and had some fun watching the sea lions. Check out the video!! They were super cute little darlings - well not so little! We made it to Big Sur for lunch and it is at this point that things look familiar because we did this part of the coast last year. The weather was sunny but cool for sure - I was completely geared up in my warmest leather jacket, etc. Another reason the ride was so tough was the M-F'ing wind!!! It was crazy!!
We got into the San Fran area around 4pm - just in time for rush hour! Of course we enjoyed some stressful lane splitting, like only the Americans do! We stopped at the viewpoint before the Golden Gate bridge and took some

I have a really good video of the sea lions but can't figure out how to upload. I will email it to you! photos and then enjoyed a leisurely ride over the bridge - my FOURTH ride over the golden gate bridge! And Rusty's TENTH! But it never gets old, such a beautiful view!
By the time we got through San Fran, it was getting late so we hightailed it up the crazy 101 to Petaluma where we found a delightful room in a Motel 6. It smells weird and there is a patch of mold in the shower but it was only $55 and we were exhausted and they have laundry! Yay! Just praying that the crackheads in the parking lot don't steal it!
Tomorrow - who knows again - I fear that we are heading into some rainy weather so not sure what route we will take - we are on the way home though! I will talk you again tomorrow night!
