Rusty needs a new tire! What would a trip to USA be without Russ and Sue spending hundreds on bikes repairs Weather: Hot inland, cool on the coast but SUNNY!!!
Miles: I have given up counting.
We left Oakhurst this morning and beelined straight to harley davidson dealership in Fresno - Russ happened to notice that he was driving on a 99.9999% bald tire. We got to Fresno around 10am and hung around while the tire was installed. Met some interesting characters, including the HG Prince - a dude with a very nice Road Glide (Rusty's dream bike) It was seriously tricked out... he had a massive stereo sysytem and all the chrome pieces were lit up with LED lights. Left Fresno and headed to the coast - good thing because it was smoking hot. We stopped at legendary "In and Out Burger" for lunch and surprizingly it was as tasty as everyone says. Next stop was Paso Robles - gorgeous wine country with estate wineries every where you turn - castles and mansions - very ritzy. By 3:30pm you could feel the change in the temp. I went from boiling hot to freezing! Cambria is a very cute little town on the oceanfront. The town is lined is with touristy shops and restaurants - very cute. Rusty found a motel

Rusty's new tire! on Moonstone beach with the ocean right at the front door. Owned by an senior couple from Quebec of all places - they gave us a real grilling when we arrived - wanted to make sure we weren't smuggling in a pet! Like where would we be hiding the pet! However not complaining as they gave us a room for $80 a night - the best deal in Cambria for sure - the first place we stopped at was not as nice and wanted $159. You can tell they were just renovated - very clean.
Spent the late afternoon/early evening sitting in a lawnchair overlooking the ocean. Russ cleaned the bikes then we relaxed with wine/beer in hand and watched the sunset - this doesn't suck! We walked up the beach for dinner to the Moonstoon Bar & Grill which is just down the way. Seriously beautiful view, I hope the photos can capture it. Then we walked down to the beach and Russ got within 6 ft of a family of elephant seals - check out the photos! He was so close!
Well, my two cents about California: inland was fun and it was great to see
In N Out Burger
YUM!!! Two thumbs up for a great burger! the high desert, Yosemite, the passes and the ranchlands but the coast is really amazing. It just occured to me that it is going into the July 4 weekend here so hope we don't have trouble finding a room in the next few nights. We NEED to find a place with laundry at some point because we are both running out of clothes. Neither Russ now I have driven north on the coast, only south, so the view will be new for both of us. Not sure where we will end up tomorrow but I am hoping it will be as nice as Moonstone Beach. This has been a great day!
Love to you all and hope you are enjoying our updates!
