Yes, We are Off.
At Auckland Airport about to get going. After a very very bumpy ride all the way from NZ to LA we arrived at our hotel opposite Disneyland and after Jeremy and the girls had a swim we went and spent the afternoon and evening at Downtown Disney looking at all the themed shops and having a meal.
We are here, and the excitement of Holly and Ella is very contagious so we are all excited, looking forward to the next 2 days exploring Disneyland. I have been blown away by this fantasy world that Walt Disney created. Amazing. Many rides, screams and yells later, the nice day turned to rain in the evening and we have been taken a bit by surprise by how cold it has been once the sun disappears. One of the plus's when coming here pre Christmas is that everything has a Christmas Theme and they do it so well. It is awesome. Huge trees and themes everywhere and the parades are spectacular to say the least. But the time just goes so fast with so much to do and see, that suddenly it is time to stop, get a meal and head off back to bed. This evening we had a meal
in a restaurant called The Green Forest. Good meal in surroundings that are a jungle with the appropriate animals appearing. Enjoyable for children and adults alike. When discussing the rides I think everyone agreed that the best was the quite ride through "It,s A Small World". This is done by being in a boat drifting along through various small figures and fantasy figures, all animated to move around to the Christmas carols they were singing. This was an amazing ride and by the end of it I was keen to have another trip through but time did not allow. Around every corner there was a new theme and country with the children's figures swaying and jigging as they sang. I must admit to having a bit of a damp face as my eyes kept on watering. It really did effect me as it was completely gorgeous. Along side of this ride you have to have a favourite as an adrenalin rush so the Matterhorn ride racing down the mountain certainly tops this.I Loved it.
Friday morning arrived with the rain still coming down so the decision was made to set out for the South Beach shopping Centre. Another great
Yes, We Are Here.
Arrival, tied but happy. experience with the place brimming with Christmas Deco's, huge trees, a wonderful Santa house and deco's every where. Very good shopping as well. The rain disappeared in the evening so planned for the next day at Disney.
Saturday arrived with the sun shinning, although it is still quite chilly, so it's off to Disney. More queues, long queues but finally in and a lot more rides. So many people but so it should be as every one needs to visit this place at sometime. Doesn't matter what age. Finished this day with an amazing fire works display. Late to bed again for adults and kids. All just so tied. Pip/Rod
