Waiting
In Brisbane waiting to board our plane. We are finally here. Was a long first day to our holiday - I seriously do not know how some people can do those long-leg flights on a regular basis!!
We were lucky to get seating on the plane where the bassinets usually go so we had heaps of leg room. We flew V Australia and we can't fault them so far, meals were pretty good and staff were really nice.
When we flew into LA, the weather was not how we were expecting it to be - it was overcast and sprinkling with rain. By the afternoon it had cleared though and we saw the nice blue skies that you expect.
After leaving the airport, we caught the shuttle bus to pick up our beasty hire car - Jeep Commander, very impressed as we'll be kicking it "Commando Style" in the States. (I wonder who came up with that)
After an hour of frustated driving on these LA freeways and getting lost in the burbs we finally found a Target and bought a GPS....YAY....Stress-free driving from now on.......mostly.
We went on to our stays in Anaheim to the Hotel Peppertree where we were warmly met and they let us have
an early check-in. Very much appreciated. We all crashed out for a few hours. Then woke somewhat refreshed and headed out to get some supplies.
Tomorrow will be exciting as we are off to Universal Studios.....

Hey Abs! So glad you guys are having a good time. That overcast sky is unfortunately the "June gloom" which sometimes carries over into July. You will find it usually burns off by 11am. Some people even confuse it with smog! Make sure you go to "In and Out Burger" - it is awesome! Order the "double double animal style" - its not on the menu, but they will make it for you (there is an underground menu that only locals know about). Look forward to reading more of your posts!! xx
