Arrived safe and sound in LA after an exhausting 13 hour flight, couldn't believe the size of LAX with over 145 terminals - makes Melbourne an Sydney look like Birdsville.Decided to eat a cup of concrete an tackle a full day of sightseeing instead of going for a nap in the hotel, consequently backing up over 30 hours 'awake' time - making the running of the gauntlet (Hollywood) interesting to say the least. Needless to say Day 2 (today) has really been our first true sightseeing outing.Hopped on the infamous bus tour from Hollywood and made our way to Venice Beach, what an eye opening experience that was with legalised marijuana on every street corner. The Boardwalk is filled with souvenir shops pretty much like the Gold Coast, street performers ( some of which u see in the movies - the rollerblading guitar playing Afro-American), and possibly the highlight of our afternoon the man with hand reared
birds that we spent some time with. We held Macaws, the big red male loved Adam SO much when the guy put him back on his perch he climbed back down walked on the pavement back to Adam again for another cuddle. I held both green females, got a kiss off one and the other just wanted to lick sun cream off me. I was then asked to sit in a chair and two Cockatoos were put on the armrests, they were "lap dogs".....they sit in your lap an contort their bodies for you to scratch them, just beautiful. We then took off on a leisurely stroll back along the boardwalk to Santa Monica Pier, taking shots of the beach where Baywatch is made, Adam begged an pleaded for me to run along the beach in my red one piece but I really was too tired to sign autographs in case people thought I was the real Pammy Anderson.<br style="color: font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust:
auto;" />We finished today with a meal at "Bubba Gumps" Shrimp restaurant.......where everything is Forrest Gump related, even the waitress asked you questions about the movie, which I beat our adjoining table. May have been the Margarita kicking in but I was certainly doing a few fist pumps in the air........competitive much? The food was MAGNIFICENT, we loved it, and the service was fabulous.Anywho, must retire for some sleep, another fun filled day tomorrow in store for us. Everyone loves Aussies here, your like a breed in a zoo that people come to see, they love talking to you an our accents.😊 K an A xx
