Me with Spiderman on Hollywood Boulevard. Stars names are on the pavement for 2 miles. LOS ANGELES 25 OCT 2007
Arrived at Hostel (Orbit, just off farefax Ave) after early hours of 25/10. First real tast of hostel life. No real reception area (like you have in hotels) so didnt have clue where to go or where to check in. Walked in to TV room dragging my rucksack lots of people chatting in groups and few people chilling watching film on TV. Felf like a small fish in the big sea. Didnt have a clue what to do so plonked my arse down and watch some Tv whilst asking few people how to check in. Eventually someone recommended i speak to some guy watching a film (Security man). Got checked in and went to my room (approx time 1am in morning). Opened door and in darkness so could see what the hell i was doing. I could make out there were 3 bunkbeds - havnt a clue which one was mine or do i just help myself???? A couple of girls were doing there stuff getting ready for bed in and out of the bathroom. I was told just to find an empty bed - easier said than done in the dark. Found a bed,

Me With Charlie chaplin and a playboy model plonked my bag dow at the side of the bed and was about to get in the bed when a head with blonde hair popped up and rose from the pillar of the bed i was about to get into. That would have been some introduction getting in bed with a young german girl with blonde hair....i guess it could have been worse lol. Eventaully found a bed, couldnt be arsed making it and was dead tired so fell asleep on the matress.
Up early as busy day ahead. Weather really nice and hot. Introduced myself to all my roomies. All girls except for 1 (and he was never there as he was coaching tennis). All seem very nice. Booked to go on LA tour through the hostel. Went for breakfast at this place called Swingers - Totally Awesome breakfast and nice girls wearing high boots, fish nets tights and short skirts...went there every day!
LA tour guide was a guy called Micky Zee. Cool very funny guy and a brilliant tour guide...new everything about LA, the people who live there and what goes on. Tour included Hollywood Boulevard, going into the hills and seeing the Hollywood sign,
downtown LA, China town, Venice Beach, Sunset, Beverley Hills, Rodeo drive and much much more. Hes always pointing interesting building, places and stating facts as you go along.
Had my picture taken with a few dressed up people on Hollywood Boulevard and walked along checking out all the stars names. Downtown LA was good, no where near as manic or as structually impressive as Manhatton though. Venice beach was awesome...so so funny. Walked along with a girl who was also on the tour herself - shed already been on venice beach so she new where to go and pointed out some cool places. Venice beach is full of charactors, roller bladers, body builders working out on the beach, tramps and drunks doing really mad freaky shit or dancing in the middle of the boardwalk. The tramps and drunks in LA actually have boards / signs round there neck asking for money so they can get pissed and leathered....at least there been honest lol! Saw a 2 headed turtle too. Went for a mexican dinner and had the best Beurito ever!!!!! Was in a rush to get back to the tour bus, was already 5 minutes late so had to
scoff it down. During the rush id forgot to pick up my day pack, without realising id left it at the restaurant the waiter had noticed and ran after me down the boardwalk to catch me up and give it me back. I was so lucky as my day pack had all my money and travel documents in and with all the tramps and piss heads around it could easily have been picked up by the wrong person.....id have been F'd. lucky escape!
From there went to Beverley Hills checking out all the stars homes. WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!! Went to about 40 or so houses inc Big Arnnies (my Favourite), Britneys, Justin Timberlakes, Beckhams, Jim Carey, Christina Aguilera, Osbournes, Jack Nichlosan and many many more. The whole area and all the houses are beautiful - think ill save up and move there...in my dreams! From there Rodeo drive for a spot of shopping lol. Went in Ralph Lauren looking like a full on tourist with very little money wondering if id even get through the door. The lobby into the shop was like a long tropical garden. However once in everyone, who was dressed tip top (very smart) was
very friendly and let on saying hello blah blah blah. Saw an awesome jacket for $3000 - think that was the cheapest thing i saw too.
From there drove through Sunset - again Mickey pointing out lot of places, best places to eat, drink and party etc.
Free beer night at Hostel tonight and the people staying at our sister hostel also joined in and came over. Got in chatting with a guy from Manchester who was a film director. From the hostel went to a bar on farefax near the other hostel. Word of advice passed on from Mickey Zee. Tip big on your first round and the barman will look after you. trust me it works. My first JD was big ($6) but my second was about 1/2 a pint.. Needless to say i was leathered and that is before we went partying on sunset with one of the guys who works in the hostel. Got in a some ridiculous oclock!!!! and crawled into bed.
