Jeff,Abrianna,Jan We are two weeks from our departure from Half Moon Bay. We will leave here on 9/4 and spend two nights at Sugar Pines State Park on Lake Tahoe. Because of our working here, we will get 2 nights free. From there we will drive US 50 to Colorado. It is a desolate road but should be interesting and different from I80. We will spend 2 nights at Lake Dillon in the Colorado Mountains. From there it is a short drive to Greeley CO, where we will be at the Colorado State Samboree, an annual campout. I am the web master for the Colorado Good Sams camping club. We will arrive home on 9/15. We left home on 4/20.
It has been a great summer on the beach. The good weather has arrived. Cloudy in the morning with sun most of the day and clouds in the evening. We were told that August has the best weather. We will really miss this place but we are look forward to more sunshine. San Francisco is a fun city but the Santa Cruz Mountains are beautiful with gorgeous beaches and cliffs and huge redwood forests.

We found a great Peruvian restaurant in the next town of Pacifica where they have the best paella. We have been there twice and wili go a 3rd time before we leave. We have really enjoyed the fish being New Englanders.
We celebrated my 70
th birthday on July 7. We were fortunate to have our granddaughter Abrianna here for a visit. When Dave and Russ came later in the month they had a cake for Me and Dave as his birthday which was July 29.
We have had a lot of company from both relative and friends. All three of our sons came for a visit. The last was Greg from Spokane. He drove here with a trailer and 4 of his 5 kids. Jennifer and our granddaughter flew to San Francisco. They left last Tuesday. Russ and his herd from LA spent 2 different weeks with us. Dave and his family came during one of Russ’ visits. Brian,Dave, Jill, Hope, Jan, Ella years, is that our kids live all over: LA, Cleveland and Spokane. We raised gypsies. I have always been envious of the large family units that come to the beach. This summer, that dream was fulfilled.
We have had 2 set of friends visit: the weavers form Redding CA and the Hazelettes from Huntington Beach. The Hazelettes are coming next week for 5 days.
We missed a lot in Colorado Springs, fires and floods and hot weather, but we will be soon wishing for the cool beach days. We have really missed our friends in Colorado Springs with our Sunday breakfasts and camping trips.
I will send a final update, after we arrive we home with any stories from the trip, hopefully just good stories.
