We went to an interesting kids hand on museum, Curiodessey in San Mateo, with my granddaughters Hope and Ella. They had an interesting aviary. A Cattle Egret fell in love with me. He followed me around and nipped at my shirt.

Yesterday, Saturday June 6, 2013, was a perfect beach day. It was about 75 degrees sunny and no wind. The Day Use Parking lot beach was packed at 150 cars. At least a 1000 cars were turned away. The side street next to the campground, which has “No Parking” signs was lined with cars on both sides. There were a couple of car accidents and shoving matches with people fighting to illegally park. The rangers called the sheriff’s office about the parking problem and they were told that it was the states fault because the beach parking in was inadequate and they would be no ticketing. Did you ever hear something so dumb!

There was a rescue from the beach when a very large women who was pregnant, could not get up. A man came to the rangers that his keys were locked in his car. He called AAA. After dark his family came to our RV because the two children were getting cold. When AAA arrived 2.5 hours later, the driver said that there was a fatal accident on the highway. The parents were drunk and roiled the car and their three year old baby was killed.

As I was locking the main entrance gate after sunset, a man drove up and yelled at me that the state needs to build more campgrounds and parking lots. If was my fault! This morning a woman complained that there was a man taking cans out the trash at 6am and he needs to be stopped.

Jan and I rode our bikes to the harbor about 2.5 miles from the campground. This was a milestone since Jan has not ridden a bike in over two years because of physical problems. We had a great seafood lunch. I rode my bike home and got the car and brought Jan back. The car ride back, 2.5 miles took 30 minutes.

I attached a couple of photos of an interesting RV from Holland. The couple has been traveling around the world for over four years. They have been to Alaska and circled the US. They are heading to Mexico and on to South America. There is a stretch in Panama and Columbia that is very bad road and very dangerous so they will ship the RV around it. They will then ship the RV to Africa. They park the RV and fly to Holland a couple of times per year. If you are interested in their web site. http://www.smiloe.nl/index.php/en/. The site is in Dutch and Google has a built in translator with interesting results.
