Aaaaaaah, relaxation! It is so sweet! So the summer of living in a tent, showering once a week and constantly covering my body in bumps and bruises is over, oh so sad! I had a great summer at Castle Lake. Working at the field station was awesome. I got to meet and work with many great people from near and far, which is always fun. And when I wasn't working I got to hike to some amazing waterfalls in the area, go berry picking until my fingers were purple and got to swim until I shrivled up like a rasin! While I did miss working at my usual summer camp job I found working at Castle Lake to be a very positive experience both for the educational as well as life lessons I learned there. After going to Washington, D.C. July 31st through August 3rd, I am feeling much better. I met my exchange partner there, as well as the other two American Fulbrighter single women who will live in the same apartment building as I and the other two Senegalese teachers who will teach in Colorado and Boston. My exchange partner is a real delight....very funny, smart, excellent French and English. I think he'll do fine at Bullard. I've shown him around Fresno (Fig Garden, Tower District, TARGET!, Al Rico Tacos, Toledos, In-N-Out, the West Side, Fresno High area, etc.) and he'll go to the mountains w/ a colleague and see Huntington Lake this Tuesday.
