After leaving the bright neon lights of Las Vegas, and the breathtaking Grand Canyon we really didn't think anything could top that on our trip, that was until we arrived just shy of Yosemite in a little picturesque town of Fish Camp, population 200. From sweltering 35 degree days in Los Angeles an Vegas, we arrived to minus 2 degrees and SNOW. It was just beautiful, indescribable, something our pictures just don't capture the true impact of. This morning we woke up to snow capped Sequoias, and our wooden deck all covered in several inches of snow.....with squirrel footprints everywhere. Our hosts at the B & B (Grant and Beth) are just truly wonderful, their home is sublime........we feel very privileged to be a guest and spoiled the way we have been. We will definitely come back, and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Yosemite. We set off today to explore Yosemite National Park, only 2 short miles down the road from Fish Camp. Minus 11 this morning, but thankfully no tyre chains were necessary as no further snow had fallen overnight, therefore the roads had been ploughed with traffic free flowing through the park. The winding roads with tall snow capped Sequoias surrounded us for the best part of an hour to the (Yosemite) Valley floor, elevation ranging between 4,000 to 6,000 feet. A couple of standouts were our visit to Ahwahnee Hotel and it's surrounds, along with the infamous formation named 'El Capitan', with its waterfall still free flowing. The season 'Fall' is clearly seen by the various shades of orange and red in the leaves, so SO pretty. We sign off tonight enjoying our last evening in Fish Camp/Yosemite feeling refreshed and revitalised for our next stop, San Francisco......however it will be with a heavy heart leaving here as this has been OUR favourite stop to date, we take many great memories with us from here.
