Mega relaxed from our few days in Magic Hot Springs we headed off to enjoy the “canyon” part of our journey. Our first stop was Bryce Canyon where we had booked a site in the small town situated just outside the Park, named Ruby’s Inn. As we arrived we noticed that almost every business or building had the name Ruby on it in some form or another. “Ruby”, we soon discovered, referred to Reuben Syrett. In 1916 he and his wife Minnie bought some land on the Paunsaugunt Plateau where they planned to set up home. It took them two days to struggle the 25 miles to reach it.
