We woke up around 8:30! I think we were so comfy and snuggly with the down blanket that we slept late. It was cold! Ken made coffee, we put on our jackets and we decided to walk around the campground with our coffee. Everyone was up making breakfast, kids were playing. We had our cinnamon crumble coffee cake and OJ and then decided to drive in to Carmel. We needed to make a few phone calls and that was the closet place for cell service. We stopped at Starbucks and got some coffee and sat outside. I decided to walk around and Ken stayed there. He had the laptop and was looking for RV campgrounds near San Francisco.
When I came back, he of course had a story. He noticed at the table next to him, there was a lady reading the Bible out loud to a man sitting with her. We had noticed a 'homeless looking' guy when we had first arrived at Starbucks and he walked up and joined the lady and other man too. She bought the homeless guy a cup of coffee and then she was reading the Bible to both men. She looked over at
Ken and said, "Don't you think it is ungodly to use all of that technology; your cell phone and that computer? That is not of God." She began reading the first chapter of Romans to him....he interrupted and finished the verse for her. She said, "Oh, you know the Bible?" Yes, and I may have been reading it on line here on my computer. 😊 She wanted to argue, but he didn't. The homeless guy asked to use Ken's phone, but told Ken he had MRSA. Ken said NO, you cannot use my phone! It's amazing how he has these things happen to him.
Ken had found another RV park nearby in Carmel. We went and checked it out. It was a lot more private and quieter than where we are now, so we decided to move. The other place is nice, just too noisy and close together.
We got some lunch at a local Pizza place...was just ok. We went to the grocery to pick up a few things and then headed back to the RV park. We loaded up and then drove to our new campground: Carmel by the River. Unfortunately, there is not much of
a river because they are building a bridge and have dammed up the river during construction. When I say river, think small stream. The 1 1/2 mile road back to this campground is very narrow. It sits up against pine covered mountains. Everything is green, flowers everywhere. You would never think you are going to an RV park. It's very quiet. The cadence of the crickets is soothing.
We decided not to eat dinner after the pizza. We have a little cheese, crackers and wine as we watch two episodes of 'Alfred Hitchcock'. They were so good. I remember watching them as a kid. The show was on every week. The second one we watched was called 'Premonition' and starred John Forsythe and Cloris Leachman. She was 29 years old!!
We read for a little and went to bed.
*I forgot to mention yesterday when we were driving the 66 miles on the PCH, we saw about 3 separate homeless looking guys walking along the road. One was hitchhiking and had a guitar. They all had backpacks. They didn't look like hard core backpackers who were going to camp for the experience. They looked down and out....and lost. I thought, where are they going to sleep on this road? Today on our way back to our campground from Carmel, we saw one of them still walking on the PCH. His face was sunburned and he looked dirty. Wow!

I wonder if that lady used "modern technology" and drove her car to Starbucks? What does the Bible say about casting the first stone again? Sheesh!
