Well try to update close to everyday, but depending on cell service and his exhausted we are, it might not happen. Day one did not start smoothly. We Spent all morning getting our bikes road ready and we didn't leave until about 10am. We schmoozed with a few other riders we met at the beach who are doing the same ride with a support vehicle, turned the go-pro on and set off. 5 minutes into the trip the go-pro mount broke, so we got our 5 min I wanted (we plan on stringing ... read more

I hit my first detour on Day Two of my journey. I was bound to hit at least one on a road trip of this length, but I didn’t expect it to come so early – or to be quite so enjoyable. Yesterday we did some laundry, and bopped around SLO until 4pm. Then we headed for LA...we were trying to miss the bulk of traffic. We did very well, hit a slow patch around 6pm in Santa Barbara. There were MANY off-shore oil rigs...we're going to have to research that...had no idea!!! Then it was fairly smooth sailing through LA. G wasn't ready to stop yet, but we did need fuel, so finally found a Shell station off the freeway and got fuel and a burger. Ate headed down the freeway, and made it almost to Oceanside, where we stopped at a rest area. They let you stay for 8 hours, so we snuggled in and slept there. Got up this morning at 5:30 and hit the road again. We hadn't found any good options in San ... read more
