So today was the day that makes all that rear end pain worth it - good weather, beautiful scenery, winding roads, no traffic and a bike that seems to like you the more you put it to the test. Headed out west on route 60 starting at the gateway of the Ozark's. Some how I missed most of the scenic riverways described on the map, but it was pleasant enough until I was stung. Many years ago a bee flew into my helmet but did not die. I could hear it buzzing by my ear, but it did not bite until I removed my helmet then it left a nice swelling on my neck. Hi ! :) Its been about 11 months since my last entry from Logrono Spain . This entry here is written just east of Springdale Arkansas today 8/10/2015 . I plan to head back to Spain to start my Camino from where we left off . Date to start is 9/26/2016 . I will be going solo as Laurie decided I am totally capable of surviving the trek . Snow and Ice is problematic , # of miles walked this week has been pitiful . Something like 10 total Flash back to 2012 . I weighed 290 lbs smoked 12 packs of Salem daily, and received weekly love notes from the Jim Beam company plus I had a bad back ( actually these last two are exaggerations but you get the idea ) . Now , today . I weigh 240 lbs, haven't had a cigarette , no longer drink and after 27 sessions of therapy for a bulging disk it's feeling good. WHOOP! Dam I am good. Hola' ! , That's about the extent of my spanish .In the next 212 days ( give or take) I have to get a grip on this language and become at least semi proficiant . The urgency for this is because Laurie ( wife) Andrew(son) and I(Joe) are throwing our backpacks on and starting our trek across Spain. Specifically The Camino De Santiago-Frances .
