Lee's Ferry is such a special place for us. We love to camp there because you have a 360 view of the red cliff's and a nice view of the river from above. This time because we had no tent or camper, we were staying in hotels which is most unusual.

They were releasing a larger than usual amount of water from the dam so the paddle upstream was a good workout. We got to the amphitheater and the rush of water proved to be too much to paddle against and so we landed there and had our lunch. We enjoyed the antics of a elderly golden retriever helping the fishermen land their fish.

Floated and paddled back to the takeout and took apart the boat and put it away. Headed off for the Grand Canyon. Made it to the Grand Canyon as the sun was going down.
