We got out on some off-road (OHV) trails in the Jeep and our friends' side-by-sides (ATV/UTV). The Jeep can traverse most trails used by smaller OHV's. We added a whip flag (yellow smiley face) for off-road visibility and amber fog lights that widen our field of view in the dark. Mike likes his hitch-mounted skull brake lights! So fun to get deeper into the desert and around the Kofa mountain range. This is why we have Mazie!

These were used by local peoples at least 500 years ago. There were a total of 5 holes on this rock of varying depth.

This was an area more than one person could have been grinding at a time. The early people would have dried and ground the berries from the cacti.

Went a trail ride with Patti & Moira in our Jeep. Our trail leader, Pat, does and amazing job planning rides.

The other folks on the ride were in side by sides or other off-road vehicles. They were so supportive of a Jeep being on the ride (not all off-road folks want a Jeep along). Mazie handled the trail without any trouble.

There are several wells and watering holes in the refuge. We stopped at 2 during the ride.

One of the highlights of the ride was stopping at this area known to have lots of chalceony stones (desert roses). I think everyone on the ride came home with some rock treasures!

There were parts of the ride that took us close to the mountains. At times the trail was narrow, but Mazie blazed on through.
