Thursday morning we changed our original plans for our route back to MN quite a bit due to the wild fires burning in the Western US. We camped an hour west of Jasper Thursday night at Mt Robson Provincial Park. Mt Robson is the tallest peak of the Canadian Rockies at nearly 13,000 feet. The fire ban in BC has been lifted, so we could finally have a campfire Thursday night. Only the second one we have had on this trip. Along our route Thursday we stopped at a very cute little coffee shop where we enjoyed coffee, blueberry pie & wifi! Friday we drove to Jasper & set up at Wapiti Campground in Jasper National Park. Due to our last minute change in plans, we didn’t have a reservation & set up in “the overflow”, which was okay for one night. When we were in Jasper in June, we could not get tickets for the Maligne Lake Boat Tour, but we were in luck this time, & did get to do the tour Friday afternoon. Maligne Lake is another beautiful teal colored glacier fed lake & the tour was really great! Guess what, it started raining (darn rain follows us everywhere) during the tour, but we still were able to get some great pictures. With the news of the fire burning in Glacier National Park in Montana, we gave up on driving that direction, & instead we continued east to Edmonton, where we are camped at a very nice park just on the west side of town for two nights. We left the mountains behind Saturday & drove through rolling hills & acres of canola. We will angle our way southeast from here & enter the states in North Dakota. Our plan Sunday is to check out the West Edmonton Mall, the largest mall in North America with 800 stores! I am sure looking forward to that😊 We have almost forgotten what a mall looks like! More later……

Robson
Loved the pic of Mt Robson! Too bad you had to alter your direction of travel. The kids were heading toward glacier when they heard of the fire so instead went to Bitterroot Natl forest,,,
