We decided to change the scenery, so we left Seward, we visited Exit Glacier, which is fed by Harding Icefield (when explorers were wanting to leave the Icefield they came down this route and thought it was a good way to 'exit' the place. Unfortunately we were not able to get to close as the river was up too high, but we got the impression of its power and size.
Driving all the way to Homer was not as scenic as we were led to beleive, but we made it here, to this larger city, dominated by Halibut fishing. Dinner for us was Fish and Chips (Halibut) and we treated ourselves to a bottle of chilled white wine, to wash it down.
Walking around along the spit of Homer it is quite difficult to describe this place. It is just full of full RV parks trying to compete with industrial fishing. None-the-less, we have found a great spot to pitch the tent, with our view of the rolling waves on the beach, so we like Homer for this experience, but are not really convinced about the place.
