Sitting in one of the many many bars here at Sandos Caracol (Bar Manglar) watching the Seahawks kick butt on the Saints (currently anyway). Sitting behind some folks from Boston. Entertaining people. Gotta love the accents & big personalities. Geoff's making friends with them, as usual. 😉
One question, does it make more sense to keep the extranjeros drunk or well fed? Apparently they believe in keeping us drunk around here. It's a long walk for food, but the booze is always nearby.
Some highlights from our brief stay at Sandos: Wolverine! (that's Geoff, according to numerous Mexicans so far...), we just took a shot & the bartender said, while making a peace sign, "Peace, love, harmony!." And seriously, Geoff has been asked if he wants "gonja (pronounced goneyaw)" about a million times since we walked off the plane. Do we look like hippies? I guess so....
Tomorrow we head out to Tulum. No reservations... no real plan. And so it begins... Wish us luck! We've spent the past 2 days on the beach going through our book & making plans, dreaming about what our trip might be. And also applying mass quantities of sunscreen. It's been 75-80 degrees daily & just wonderfully warm. Well really, hot.
