Playa Del Carmen & Cozumel, Mexico. Another day long journey on Monday, we left Caye Caulker (queue weeping incoherently) on the 8:30am speed boat to to Belize City on the coastline, caught a nice aircon bus from there to the Mexican-Belize border town called Chetumal (4hrs), crossed the border to Playa Del Carmen on the Mexican coast (4 hrs), then a taxi to the hotel which made it around 8pm. The hotel was kinda funky, the entrance was built into a tree, the whole place was quite jungle-esque.

Playa Del Carmen is....well....America really! It is a Mexican town on steroids due to the American cruise ships docking here, dumping off waddling, fat Americans weighed down with all their dollars. All the shops are super swanky: diamonds, designer and the lazy Americans just pay USD wherever they go, so it´s kind of an annexe of America. But hey! I have no problem with all this, I like Americans mostly, love the accent and the hotties! Hubba! I was in my element whilst we sunned ourselves on the beach, plenty of eye-candy for Lord Snipleton. The night scene was rocking too! All the clubs were on the beach and at nighttime they turned into something like you see on "The Grind" on MTV, you know? The show where everyones beautiful, drunk and dancing erm....closely (my mum reads this! sorry mum!). I of course observed from a distance. 😊

After Playa we jumped onto a ferry for 30mins to Cozumel, the American SpringBreak heaven! Which curiously is where our first accomodation plans came from, whilst myself and Nick sweated it out casing a few hotels Kez was ensconced in a cafe and was accosted by no other than.....Archangel Pat!! I kid you not, that was his name! The Archangel was clearly undercover as a waiter, his gift to us was a cheap apartment, but the Angel doth lie! It turned into nothing. Now I do not believe in heaven. I do believe in USD and hard work. We found a place with aircon. End of story.

We met a doctor friend of Kez who was docked along with her boat (ship! I meant ship!) she gave us a tour then we hung out at the bar on shore where the crew hang out, she was lovely and they were a bunch of poncing nancies, drunken, with shaven chests...and do not get me started on the men! 😉

Friday we were up at 7am to catch a boat for two dives since the reef from Belize stretches up to Cozumel, the visability was incredible, we saw grouper, barracada (hey! you! stop sleeping, you know you want to know what fishies we saw!) , ok ok, it was fun, I will not babble on about it. 😉

Thought of the Day. Today we invented a new game called Random Tat. We each get 500 USD, we walk down any street and we MUST buy whatever we are offered, the winner is the one that gets the most random tat. Seriously, we are never left alone, they try and sell us everything from string hammocks, to cocaine to the local hotel managers daugher, we have been offered it all!
Hurray! Only a few weeks until I am back home! Sunsets! Diving! Facebook!
Argh Only a few weeks until I am back home!
