Bad news.. it appears that all the pictures on my camera are now blurry.. it had been happening on and off for a while but its got to the point i am no longer using it 😞 i cant transfer pics from my phone to the computer without a bit of hassle so for the moment its blurry pics.. should hopefully just be for this post though

I hadnt sunbathed since northern colombia (5 weeks ago maybe?) so I was delighted to hit the beach for the first time in ages. From Oaxaca we took a 7 hour mini bus over the hills in a very windy journey in order to reach the pacific coast, also deceptively the furthest south in mexico that we will go. (carribean is higher north interestingly). For once, we were arriving in the good season! as in, not the rainy one. Also with it being november temperatures are a bit more bearable than the warm, wet summer months. Oaxaca was a pleasant 24-26 daily, and about 12ish overnight which made sleeping pleasant. Puerto escondido was between 30-32 daily and 22ish overnight, so a big change! We got a hostel with a pool, so for the

turtle release
first 3 days i think i literally just lay at the pool sunning myself and reading my book, relaxing as such felt so overdue. On our first night we saw baby turtles being released into the sea which was amazing, they were so small and cute though some naughty dogs kept trying to run in their way and play with them so they had to taken away.

Puerto as a town has about 4 beaches, so we generally lazed about during the day adn then went to the beach later on and for sunset as it was just so hot. We stayed in the one place for 5 night but then they didnt have room.. this turned out to be a good thing as we got another room in a different place which had air con, a great pool, and we had the entire place to ourselves bar one night! I dont understand why it wasnt busier as it was lovely, but i guess it was good for us. This was also the place i found out we had black iguana friends that lived behind the wall near the sun terrrace. They were big and huge and scared the

carizalillo beach
hell out of me, though i know they cant harm me. The owner also had 2 dogs which i throughly enjoyed playing with, not to mention the wee street dogs outside. In my element!

We were really susprirsed by how cheap it was there. Rather than it being a tourist town, it is more surfer-hippy based and prices were very reasonable. Probably another re
