Ok so we´re a few days in now and having a wicked time. On Wednesday night we went to see Atletico Madrid play Cruz Azul after a crazy hour taxi ride with no seat belts! We managed to miss the first 10 mins of the game which was when the only goal was scored but the carnival atmosphere throughout the game was amazing!

On Thursday we saw the city centre sights - the Cathedral, Palace and Temple ruins. we accidently ended up in a mucho posh restaurant for lunch looking pretty out of place with our flip flops! we then came back to our hostel for a little siesta and then were ready to get on it!! this involved alot of mexican beer and a crazy barman standing on the bar pouring tequilla down our necks - good times

we got woken up this morning (friday) a little to early for our liking by an old couple who lost their passports and looked for them very loudly!! we headed for Chapultepec on the metro (which is much better than London underground and only 10p a journey), which is a massive park with the castle, lakes, museums (oh yes we got cultural!) and a zoo (which pleased Dan). We´ve bought tickets for the Mexican wrestling grand final tonight and are going with a group from the hostel, should be good!

Ciao
