So again no lie in today but im use to my peculiar body clock now, something im not sure i mentioned but here in Mexico city the temp drops at night so i have a thin duvet, blanket and sheet at night as appose to a sheet in the south as it was so hot at night and you needed a fan on.
So i went through the usual routine of showering etc and then it was breakfast time and breakfast was fruit covered in yougurt followed by french toast and various other things as breakfast in Lou's house is never small, im use to a quick bowl of cereal and running out the door for a tram or a bus to work.
Then while Lou was sorting out some Uni work i packed up my souvniers and some gifts for my family to post home and a postcard for my sister and one for my girlfriend, the one to my girlfriend im sending to Oz, but im not sure if she will be there or back home?
I also had another look at my South America guide at places to stay when i get to Santiago (Chile),
then when Lou was done i had a quick spin on the web and checked out hostelworld web site and found a cool hostel for about 5 pounds a night, so i think if i can get a cheapo hostel in most places in South America i should be pretty sorted.
So later on Lou's dad took us by Lou's work and she picked up some papers and then he dropped us by Chapultec park, which is a national park in the Mexico City and it houses a castle (castillo) and several museums and a zoo, a lake and an are for perfomances and the next one is a ballet, swan lake i think?
So we walked up to the castle and the is now a museum, however it was a millitary school and resdency to presidents of Mexico up until 1939 when it was decreed as a musuem for the people, everything is in spanish, but i can manage to work out the odd sentence and for the rest i have my translator Lou😊, its a lovely old place with opulent rooms and stain glass and amazing views of the city, at one stage it was held
by the Americans and some brave army cadets tried to resit them and in the end Mexico gave up land to get rid of the Americans, funny how the Americans seem to have been involved in most of Latin America so far, i will need to see how far there reach went into south america?
So the are paintings and artifacts from the revolutionarys who got Mexico its independence from spain and the battles with the french and english involvement with the revolution and the constituion etc, basically an overview of Mexicos history from day one to present day.
It was very intresting and no photos apparently although that did not stop me and then we alked around the park and i bought Lou and her mum a drink, wow i was able to buy something for them.......lol, we saw the lake and a practice of the ballet and then got the metro back as Lou's mum had stuff to do and we got back and had salad and potato cheese fritter things and generally a large lunch.
Lou was then looking at transport to Leon in North Mexico as she is assiting with the WRC (World
Rally Championship), anyway no flights for tomorrow and so now she is going thursday.
Then later on in the evening we headed out in a taxi with Lou's dad in tow and headed to the Arena Mexico to watch some Mexican wrestling, some of them get really into it....lol, stores outside the arena sold masks and various mercandise including figurines and ticket touts and food stalls sat side by side outside, we waited on lou's friends who were late and Lou's dad was clock watching, we went in and it said no photos and i tried my luck and got my camera taken off me and i had to pay and get it back later, it was quite amusing as it was a cheaper version of the WWE, all theatatics and no real fighting. I eventually got my camera back after the fight and paid 5 pesos to get it back and we got the metro back to the apartment.
We had tea and biscuits back at the apartment and then Lou's dad said his goodbyes and nice to meet me as he is away with work tomorrow for a week and eventually i said my goodbyes and
headed to my room, not usre what the plan is tomorrow?
