Day of the Dead

Tica bus dropped us in Tapachula and we were going to head to Oaxaca but there was some stuff going on there so we headed to San Cristobal. Mexico was surprising. I had always thought that it would be similar to Central America but was pleasantly surprised to find a developed country. San Cristobal was beautiful and Mexican food was a welcome change. We stayed there for about a week and visited an indigenous town for day of the dead and took a day boat trip down the canyon sumidero. It was pretty and we saw some wild spider monkeys. Bus and plane tickets to Mexico City were comparable so we opted to fly out of the Tuxtla airport.
