A much smaller site. Only about 30000 people lived here. These two sites are older than ChickenItza ...early classic era before human sacrifice wasa used.

This guy with the help of 6 painters did series of watercolours of the sites in the Yucatan in the 1850's .The lithoographs I saw were amazing.

Flowers are for sale on many street corners in Merida.I think the rose -Calla is an amazing combination.

The other morning I was passing by the plaza and saw woman in costumes. I ended up watching these young teachers in training for about 90 minutes preparing for a big performance next week .

Actually it is Campeche Bay on the gulf of Mexico.The fort is intact and now holds 9n salons of archeological artifacts from the Campeche region
