Today' the winds calmed down a bit so I went out in the kayak for a few hours this afternoon. Temps are really warming up here. Today it was probably close to 80ish or more.
Sunday was the Art Association's Arts Festival at the Rancho Buena Vista which is a really nice older hotel. Built in 1952, Rancho Buena Vista has long been regarded as the last of the Golden Age Baja Fishing Resorts on the Sea of Cortez. It is like taking a step back in time when visiting this gem of a a hotel. The arts festival was well attended and there were lots of very creative wares being sold. Several of our friends here had items in the sales as well.
Last week a couple of the fishermen in the park here went out fishing for squid! Very interesting creatures. These things were huge! I learned that they have this beak much like that of a parrot and it can be quite dangerous! The squid is cut up and then frozen and used for bait.
