Hello from the Prairies! We were in Winnipeg for such a long time that it was great to start heading west again! The temps have been freakishly warm out here! The first place we stopped was a little community called Elie. We had 3 MB's there one of which was the mother of Tim McClain. I'm sure everyone will remember the horrific event 3 years ago on the Greyhound bus when Tim was murdered and decapated. Debbie was one of the strongest women I have met. Her anger at the system has made her this way. Vince Li was found NCR (not criminally responsible) and also doubles for "no criminal record". He will be released very soon. She is fighting the system to change the laws. She has some incredible stories of other cases that were not so well publisized. After Elie, we headed to Portage la Prairie. After our End of Day, we rented the curling rink which was attached to the hotel. I love trying all these new sports! Quite afew of the team ended up flat out on the ice! The next morning, 6 of us went over to a school and helped out at a Special Olympics

Relaying in the Prairies! snowshoe competition. We are trying to fill our short days in the prairies with good deeds!
Leaving Portage, our next stop was a tiny community called Austin. This is really one of the best things about this trip. You would never stop in these tiny communities normally. We are truly seeing all of Canada! We also passed through McGregor, Carberry, Douglas, Shilo and then onto Brandon. We had our End of Day celebration at the Discovery Centre. We spent four nights in Brandon. Continuing west, we stopped in Alexander, Oak Lake and Virden. The temperature hit +7 in Virden! After relaying in Elk Lake, we said good-bye to Manitoba and hello to Saskatchewan. Wow, our 3rd last province! CTV was waiting for us at the border to film the event! We ended in Moosomin where we stayed for 2 nights at one of the nicest hotels yet believe it or not! From Moosomin we went through Wapella, Whitewood, Broadview, Grenfill, Wolseley, Sintaluta and Indian Head. Sintaluta had a population of 97! We had 2 MB's there. They managed to raise over $1100 for the foundation on a chili dinner! Wow that must have been some good chili! The generousity

Having fun with the Escort role! of these little communities is so inspiring! We then travelled through Qu'Appelle, Mclean, White City and ended in Regina. Rick joined the Relay again here and surprised many of the Medal Bearers as he wheeled along with them. Later that evening we were all given tickets to the hockey game where Rick dropped the puck. Good game + good company = good times!
That's all for now folks....
Love always, Weedie and Jeepa xoxoxo
