For the last 3 years, we were supposed to go to Africa. It was the continent I have never been to and many family types of unique animals live there, that i have never seen in the wild.

In end of 2019 and start of 2020, my wife hurt her foot bad, so we decided to go to a closer place instead. We went to Nicaragua. We are very familiar with central

america as we went there many times before.

Then pandemic started. No place out of country to go for 2 years. Finally start of this year, situation improved with COVID. Sadly, I went to hospital for some chest pain, and even if it

wasn't serious in the end, my health insurance blocked me for 3 months. Then my wife went to hospital too a few months later, and needs to come back for a last test soon, and she's then blocked by same insurance. :-(

So no travel out of country so far, and possibly not before end of 2022, if nothing changes. :-)

Meanwhile, did some quick day trips.

We went in Lanaudiere region to try to take some good pictures.

We also went to Oka national park and surroundings. This park has natural and historic attractions. Historically, it was at a strategic point at confluent of 2 main rivers in Quebec. French settle this land early in colonial times. On nature's side, it has very mature deciduous forest, along with marshes, swamps, lake shore. It's extremely popular in the summer for its big shaded camping and the beach.

We went in spring times, when it's more quiet. Even with this traffic, park has conservation places, especially for reptiles and amphibians.

Region surrounding the park is famous for vast apple orchards. It was spectacular to see all the apple trees in bloom!!

My next trip starts in a couple of weeks. I stay in Quebec but will do the tour of Gaspésie, which is a very popular tourist spot here. I plan to visit most of national parks during the trip.

It's a round trip of roughly 1800km. This road is very scenic, so I hope to have good weather.

It is annoying when international travel is restricted
I totally understand if you feel frustrated by not being able to travel abroad. But travelling in your own country can be quite rewarding as well we have noticed in the last two years. We have visited many interesting places in Sweden during the Covid years. And we are happy for that. /Ake
