The day started off with Grant coming into my room and whispering whether we were still going to the theme park. I was amazed to see Grant as he had been really drunk when he got back the previous night and did not think for a second he would still want to go. Unfortunately the weather had still not got any better and even I did not want to go to when it was constantly raining and so we had to take a hit on the money that we had already paid for the theme park. In the main part of the hotel they had an excellent breakfast with a variety of different foods available all for $5 each. While eating Grant said that he wanted to go in search of the underground city that was supposedly in Montreal as it was meant to be really good. With no other ideas on the table that was what we decided to do.
Upon setting off the weather had gotten even worse and I very nearly turned around and went back into the hotel room but decided to carry on, this was something that I would come to regret later
on. We were following google maps for the entrance to the underground city and when we went into a mall we thought that we had found the right place and it was very underwhelming. However, when I double checked the location myself it turned out that it was just a mall and that we were in the wrong place. Annoyingly even after going to what I thought was the right place we could still not find the entrance to it and we spend a good hour or two trying to find this elusive city. Eventually we gave up and went to a starbucks where I looked up the underground city online to see if I could work out where we needed to go. It turns out that the underground city was just a network of tunnels connecting buildings with a couple of shopping malls underneath. This was particularly disappointing as we had spent the whole afternoon looking for it!
It was the first day where something had gone wrong on the trip and the weather did not help everyone's mood so when we got back to the hotel we decided to watch a movie rather than doing
anything else. However, on the way back there was a great moment where a woman was holding her dog out of the car window and she was really happy about this. Only me and Jake saw this but it was absolutely hilarious. We had booked Poutineville for this evening and it did not let me down, the food was amazing and one of the best meals I had eaten on the holiday so far. I ordered the big plate of Poutine which turned out to be a mistake but I did just about manage to finish it. We had an excellent waitress as well who was also very good looking as well. Anyone travelling to Montreal I would definitely recommend coming to this place. I was still feeling a little hungover from the night before and so we went for a couple of drinks in Cheval Blanc and played some cards before heading back to the hotel room. The next day we would be back on the road and heading back to the USA.
