We had a free day in Montreal before we needed to start the voyage west, so we decided to take both boys to Parc Safari since Marc had had such a good time there with Frederique. It turned out to be a great choice for a hot day. Parc Safari is actually about 45 minutes south of Montreal in the Richeleau valley area. We started off by visiting the walk through animals before it got too hot (although it was already pretty roasting). In the lion and tiger area you actually get to walk through glass tunnels that go right through the animal enclosures. One of the female lions was right up on the tunnel as we went through so it was pretty neat to be looking up at her. They have 3 white lions from ... read more

This was our break week. Marc and I spent the week in Montreal at Robert's house hanging out by the pool and exploring the area while Claude and Paul went fishig to Northern Quebec. It was a sweltering hot week so a great one to spend alot of time by the pool. Marc was at Robert's pool with either me or Frederique every day, as well as getting to go to Etienne's in ground pool with a slide one day. On Monday Frederique and Etienne took Marc out to Parc Safari for the afternoon while I managed to get a hair cut. He had lots of fun feeding the animals from the car and they also splashed around the wate park area. It is kind of a combination animal park where you can drive through the ... read more

For the first weekend of May we headed down to Montreal to Robert's. It was supposed to be nice down there and we hadn't had much nice weather yet so we took our bikes along in hopes to have our first ride of the year. The weather was phenomenal. It was hot and sunny and over 20 both days of the weekend. The first truly hot days we have had. We still had snow back in Saint Raymond, but in Montreal the grass was green and the early flowers were blooming. On Saturday we took the bikes over to the park where Etienne works and Marc got a chance to bike around on his little bike too for awhile. Then we loaded him into the Chariot and joined by Frederique, we headed out onto the bike ... read more

He left today. I was kinda hoping that i wouldnt have to watch him leave but the bugger came and found me on the gangway. Grr shouldnt be this depressed. I'll get over it. Anyway on a ligher note i did a bit more photog training during the embarkation process, i think i did pretty well considering it was my first time. I can always do better but practice make perfect i suppose. I've got the general emergency drill later. I have to stand in an oven like escape staircase with my life jacket on guiding passengers to the lifeboats, its not fun but i guess its important. Although if we do start to sink....i'm gonna be the one panicking! My room mate left today as well which means we have a new photographer on the ... read more
