Actually its the Cavendish Trail spanning the central part of P.E.I. THe red dunes in the ever so long Provincial Parks are awsome.
...so far behind in blogging that a quick short version is necessary.

June 6, Cymbria

… this campground could have been found faster of I had been following the proper route, did use Route 2 because of distance to be covered but was considerably delayed by numerous stops.

… at Cymbria Campground the entry sign at the road is OLD, FLAKY, DULL

… is this a for warning!! of what to expect?

… one toilet, one sink Habitat from Humanity would not accept, one shower stall fit for Twiggy - read anorexia

… other RV’s so close have to cover side windows of wan, buildings showing age, sites good, place OK, big trees so needed extra lengths to string clothes line.

… planned by using map to see what there was to see tomorrow.

June 7, North Rustico Harbour

…no rain so was able to have breakie at camp site

… did stop for coffee at Robin’s… franchise like Tim’s with coffee, bagels, subs, donuts

… the lobster fishermen had come in, the lobsters were gone to market, and the boats were all clean and ready to go again the next day

… mackerel is fished here using gillnets and is then used as bait or eaten

… an old man who said he was ready to retire had two bags of mackerel too many so he would take them home to freeze, said he would get a good price for his boat, $750,000 for license and boat,

… man with saltwater coming out of a heavy duty hose was cleaning away fish blood from the wharf,

… first lobster fisher spoken to was now on his father’s boat, shows me pic of huge tuna, he goes out with clients during tuna season, all have to buy tokens just like moose tokens up north, only one tunaper person is allowed

… two busloads of “tourists”, five snaps of the camera then back on the bus

… see an osprey flying, very exciting, my first ever,
HELP! HELP! HELP!HELP! HELP! HELP!HELP! HELP! HELP!

My what big teeth you have! The better to be eaten by Lobster and Human. Ionly know mackarel froma can used to make economically priced fishcakes.
osprey nest on platform, see her arranging herself over nest

… enjoy the tranquillity of the sea, sand and beach weed

... walk back past dog doodoo in beach sand, good thing sandals back on feet

... put few scarce treasures in van

... enter Blue Mussel, eat the chowder which has been entered in an island wide contest ,can’t be from a can!

eat luncheon menu sized (second of three stainless steel bowl set) mussel order - OMG - wish so many oysters were on offer for the same price - $9.99, drink beer suggested by Village Potter girl - Czech style Pilsner - just the right kind of beer

... Japanese bus tour eating dinner, all meals cost $39.99+

… salad bar longest in Canada? PEI? the World??

… find an appropriate patch in all you can imagine kitsch souvenir shop under the same roof

... on drive back to campground disregard sign for Toy Shop

... find Cymbria Campground without difficulty, entry card works, take shower in disgustingly small stall, cover windows on both sides of wan, tune in to internet movies until 01:30 … all camping stuff packed up this time! LOL

… leaving in the morning, but not till Cavendish is visited.

June 8, Campbell Cove

…drive towards Cavendish

… stop at Rachel’s for breakie

… info centre geared for all things Anne

… Green Gables House, entry $5.40, garden a lovely green in the rain, the barn has old photos that depict the history of the area, makes for a good read especially when it is noted that in the 1850’s a horse cost $400 the average annual income at that time

... attracted by a sign written in three languages - French Japanes English

… almost missed the post office … forget to go into museum part … saw the display at Museum of Civilization/History Museum … thankyouharper , L.M. Montgomery had worked as a post mistress

… one shot of a black and white cow, saved 19.99 by not buying matted cow print

… arrive at CAmpbell's Cove and pay for five nights, regard the waves, the sand , the sun, declare heaven has been found, recognize dogs and hat of couple from Cymbria who had also been at Waterford Cottages but not at same time, chatted, ate chicken salad dinner, showered in nice BIG space, more wave gazing, some movie watching, star gazing during midnight nature calls, great sleep!,

June 9, Souris

… wake to sunrise, then the rains begin and they have not stopped!

… go into Souris Info Centre, am told that the only Laundromat is in Morell – another town at some distance

… laundry done at Marina, blogged in office while wash was washing and drying

… lighthouse in Souris was accessible for free, the gift shop had more sea glass, ordered a glow in the dark earing, a bit of uranium was added to glass during the War so now the glass glows under turned on flashlight

… Co-Op groceries, store will be open on Sunday, will come to get supplies for Pot-Luck Supper at Campbell’s Cove Sunday evening

… RAINRAIN&RAIN

…sit in Tim’s with coffee and glazed donut waiting for low tide at beach so some sea glass searching can be done
