Pier 21 Well we are now in PEI. Thursday I took it easy. I sat in second cup for 2 hrs enjoying an iced americano and searching for places to stay in PEI. Thursday night we went out again with Brett's work group. We went to a really nice Italian place and had a 4 course set menu for dinner. We than stayed out very late enjoying East Coast hospitality.
To bad for Brett that Firday morning he still had to go to class for 8am. On fri I packed us up and picked up the rental car. We were driving out of Halifax by 3pm. We drove over the Confederation bridge rather then taking the ferry because it is way faster. It took us only 3.5 hrs to from downtown Halifax to our B & B in Cavendish. Pretty quick to drive though 3 provinces eh!!
It was really cool driving across the Conferation drive bridge. It is 14 km long. When you look over the cement wall all you see is ocean. I had alittle bit of anxiety driving actually....but we made it...no pics though. Since Brett was in cllass all day it seemed fair that I drive.

Our first all you can eat lobster supper. This is the Brett before pic. The drive to Cavendish was beautiful. PEI seems all small town. It is filled with rolling hills and crazy ocean views. It was warm enough on fri that I even got a tank top tan!! It is very green here. The spring flowers are out. Beautiful!!!! We are staying in Cavendish. This whole area is called Anne's land. We are staying at Shining Waters Ingleside Resort. The resort is all based around Racheal Lynde's house. The big yellow house has an office downstairs and about 20 bedrooms up stairs. I had booked a queen bed with a private bath. When we walked into the house all we could smell was super old house. I don't think that this house has changed much in the last 100 yrs. When you were walking on the floor it felt like you were in Alice in Wonderland or something. The house was not level anymore. We didn't like it but I had already given a deposit and we didn't want to hurt this lady's feelings. Long story short we negotiated a deal and are now staying in a private cottage/suite. It is new and awsome. Since it is still low season here there is

Brett after the all you can eat lobster supper. a lot of availability. We have a queen bed, a jacuzzi, and a large deck.
After getting comfortable we made our way to North Rustico and then to our first all you can eat Lobster supper. You get the salad bar, seafood chowder, mussels, lobster and pie. After the mussel bar in Halifax we learned 1 plate is enough.
Saturday
We had our breakfast at Racheal's Ristorante and then we went to explore. Since the rain had not started yet we wanted to get outside and enjoy as much of the day as we could. We hiked all over PEI National Park and around Cavendish beach. I am loving the red sand here. I had kind of forgotton about that. It is very beautiful and people are super friendly. We will never get bored of the East Coast accent. We found a seafood shop that sold us cooked lobster at $7.50 a lb. This is so cheap. In Halifax lobster was $35 a lb. So we desided that we need to picinic more. We bought 2 lobster a cracker and a fork. We had an amazing picnic on our deck. No butter but we managed. We also

Walking along Cavendish beach area in the red sandstone. tasted some PEI wine. Yummy!
We than made our way to The Land of Green Gables. You have to love the enthusiam. I wish that it hadn't been so long since I had read the book. I did purchase Anne of Green Gables to re read on this trip. We started the tour with a vidoe of L.M Montgomery. We then toured the homestead where she based Anne's home. It was really neat. We even took a hike though the forest to L.M Montgomery's real home stead. We went to the Anne cafe and had her famous red cordial. The rain had now caught up with us so we retired to our suite for a jaccuzi before dinner. We are now off to find some oysters.
