PEI!! We love you!!! We arrived in PEI after cycling 81 kms to get to the ferry. We had planned to find a nice place to camp on the other side of the water in PEI and call it a day until we arrived there...it was warm, breeze-less, hill-less, green; it was absolutely amazing and had Brad and I wondering how a 70 minute ferry ride could bring us from a grey fisherman's land to lush green paradise!! We were so pumped we eneded up cycling another 36 km before arriving in Orwell.

Orwell is a little historic town that we expected to be much like Fort Langley. We expcected a nice small town to spend the evening in and at the least, we hoped for a gas station so we could get some supplies and use a washroom to clean up. Unfortuantely the ENTIRE town was a historic sight in the middle of nowhere, bounded by gates and it was still closed for the season. This was supposed to be a final destination after a long day of biking and it was a long 50km to the next town...so that was a bit of a misadvenure as we

had to stay locked outside the town and had a buffet of raisins, nuts and poptarts for dinner and went to bed quite smelly indeed.

We made it to Charlottetown after a 50km ride from Orwell and were not sure if we would spend the day there, or go further. We had lunch and decided we would continue biking...until we heard about a bike shop in town!! We had been looking for one since my crash so it was a perfect find - I got my bike repaired (the brakes were not in the best shape after my fall) and Brad got his bike checked out I got a new helmet (my mom told me I was in deep trouble if I didnt replace my banged up helmet - and my mom means buisness). From there we happened to stop by a grocery store on it's 100 birthday so we got free hotdogs, free drinks, free cake, free entertainment, free flowers and there was free facepainting and freecaracitures... we took FULL advantage of all this free-ness and had quite the 100-year celebration!!! Right when we thought Charlottetown couldn't get any better we found an outdoor store (we had been

looking for one for ages so we could buy some gas to COOK and eat something other than peanut butter and jam). The manager of the store, Andrew, had been asking about our trip as we shopped and said he might be able to hook us up with accomodation for the night. He said he had to work until 5 and then was going kayaking but would let us know. When he called later he said he's gotten two extra kayaks from the store, and told us to come to his house and eat some dinner and we'd go kayaking and then we could stay in the spare bedroom of his house! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Andrew was our new best friend!!! We had SUCH an amazing time kayaking around the harbour and the night was complete was some PEI drinking with Andrew and his friends at the pub...Brad and I felt drunk after two beers, I think we're too healthy!

We woke up after our amazing day in Charlottetown and had a warm goodbye from Andrew's accomodating parents and scored some of Andrew's old racing bike jerseys and some pins from Andrew's dad. It was a beautiful sunny day and we
