These are our two very excellent minivans and all the gear me took - and also Karl doing a spot of posing
After a crazy week of more parties getting to know people and starting classes we decided it was about time we saw a bit of Ontario. After much organising (well done B) and worry about whether we'd actually ever leave Guelph we set off for Algonquin Park. Altogether there were 9 of us (Emily, Bianca, Eban, Phil, Karl, Ylva, Julie, Lizzie and myself) and we packed up our belongings into two mini vans and hit the road. After a five hour drive entertaining ourselves with some wicked singing, dancing and abuse throwing at the other car we finally arrived. Thinking that the token Canadian (Emily) would know the way we got quite a surprise when we arrived before them. It was dark and we were gettin a little worried cause it was 9.30pm, pitch black and they were nowhere to be seen. Soon enough they appeared and there were big hugs of relief that they'd made it. Soon after the battery in our car went dead cause someone had left the stereo on - oops! We didn't worry though and soon got the tent set up and had some beers and sandwiches for dinner. It was then a case of 9

people spooning in a 6 man tent with minimal blankets (frost outside). It didn't wasn't long before Bianca, Emily and myself headed for the car with what little covers we had to get what sleep we could.

Next day we got up early and went for a drive to warm ourselves up. We then got back ate some good grub and went for a hike up a cliff called Booths walk. It was really pretty and we could see the whole of Rock Lake which was surrounded by trees just about to turn colour for Autumn. After a spot of extreme mountain running we got back to the sight and set of in search of sleeping bags in preperation for the night time.
Found a camp shop and Bianca decided to ask for some help with her own bag cause the zip was broken. After leaving the shop advice in hand she tried to fix the problem but that wasn't happening so we went back and took the bag into the shop to see if the guy could help us. Within 2 minutes he'd discovered that when you try and zip the bag closed with the wrong zip

Looks like the Carribean but it really was Algonquin.
it won't work - red faced we got outta there ASAP and laughed til it hurt the whole way home.
That night was a chilled out night by the lake eating more food and Smores (choc buscuits with marshmallow melted inside them) then we were all pretty beat so headed for bed. You guessed it back in the car for B, Em and me still too cold even in the Puss Puss.

Got up at 6am to go sun rise hunting. Found the perfect spot and did another forest run to try and reach the tower before we missed it. Unfortunately Emily who was leading the way took a nose dive over a log and messed up her ankle real bad. We decided to abandon the plan and carry out a rescue mission back to the car which was pretty fun. While taking my turn to give Em a piggy back I jokingly asked if she was ready to fall, i then replied that she should be and two seconds later i hit a pot hole throwing Emily over my head onto the ground and giving myself a face full of mud. Yet another dose of the giggles

for us.
So we got back to camp packed up then found a nice little patch of river to swim at, that was after "Safari adventure 2004" when we took the vans for a spot of off roading and bear hunting in a landfill site. Then we headed up Dorset tower to eat our last Bologne and Mock Chicken sandwiches. Needless to say the rest of the drive home is vague cause i spent it sleeping but Big Ups to Emily, Bianca and Karl for driving their and back without them we would've been stuck in Guelph and missed out on a great weekend.
