We finally arrived in Toronto yesterday morning after a very long trip. It was very odd driving up to the border, getting out the coach and going through the checks before getting back on 10ft further down the road. Of course theres always someone who gets it wrong so we had to wait around for over an hour, we did see and extremly cute bird though.
Violent thunderstorms greeted us and after much confusion of where we were meeting the woman were staying with and the panic over the fact we had no Canadian money, the sun began to shine and we began to settle into this foreign land!
We caught up on some sleep and ate some soup before heading out with Sammy (one of the 3 daughters in the family were staying with) We went to a mall locally known as "china mall" where we were quite overwhelmed with all the shops and stalls. We tried bubble tea which is a fruit smoothie with chewy balls of tapioca in. It was odd.
Last night we went to a bar in an incredibly trendy and expensive part of Toronto with Sammy and her friends. We felt a bit out of place, as nearly everyone was head to toe in white. On our way back we stopped off at Sam Hortons for hot chocolate. (It's an extremly Canadian coffee chain named after a famous hockey player!)
We woke up late today and had some wonderful bluberry pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast. Its Heidi's (the eldest daughter) bridal shower so we must dash and get to the cupcake eating, toilet roll dress making party!
We are staying in a very busy household with 2 dogs, 2 budgies and 4 sometimes 5 people. A baby has just started crying too wish us luck!
