We got on our way Wednesday. It was a short first day. We went to see Maia and family in Regina. It was fun to set up tent in the backyard. Maia even slept in the bug tent, it's so hot. I got to give her dad a big hug, before his operation. Perfect first night ended with a glass of wine outside.
Today we woke up slow. I got to finish a book. When I looked up the clouds had rolled in, so I woke up Jake high speed and we packed up our tent before it got wet. We hugged all good bye and got on the road. We had lunch in the small town of Virdin, there was a really pretty park. We then decided to check out Spruce hills park. It's on the Assinaboine river. It is a park of rolling sand dunes covered in a thin layer of grass with sporadic trees. I found its beauty soothing. Jacob liked running down the huge hills of exposed sand. We couldn't stay. It wasn't a park you could camp in, so it was back to the highway for us. We

Goodnight and sweet dreams.

We had to pack up right quick again this morning. I'd made a perfect cup of coffee and we had croissants and toasted bagels when it started to thunder. If we didn't want to pack the tent up wet we had to MOVE. Made it in time though, we make a good team. We drove to Kenora, only stopping for ice cream. I love Kenora, the rock, the water the cute townsite. Jacob and I both think that if we had to move we could live in Kenora. We looked at the maps and decided to take the scenic route and go to Sioux Narrows. It's beautiful here even with the rain. We think we'll stay tomorrow as well and go paddling.
Good night and sweet dreams.
