The good news is that the weather is much improved on yesterday but not
as awesome as the day before. Lazy morning as looking to get to
Gananoque for the 11am ferries. Takes about 30 minutes from Kingston.
Get there only to discover we had the wrong information so the 2.5
hour cruise doesn't depart until 1pm. We take a walk around town snd
end up at the Gananoque Inn which was an awesome pub for an early but
light lunch. Pulled Pork rolls...yum. That didn't stop us wanting
the left over Tim Horton donuts.

Off to the cruise. The cruise was great. There has been great debate
over wharis and island...and you can see why. It must be above water
all year round, have at least one branch of a tree and be at least 1
foot square. Some of the islands have houses that are built right up
to the water boundary on three sides with a little bit of rock and of
course 1 tree in front. There are also the 'millionaires' row houses
which are magnificent. Then there's Boldt Castle. It's magnificent
and the 5 acre island was bought by a man for his wife who he loved
dearly, and he was building her the most magnificent house (better
described as a castle) when she died. He was so distraught he never finished construction
and left it to crumble. It was later donated to the government and
then sat for many before years and it has now nearly finished its
restoration.

Sadly it was very overcast, so hopefully the photos will come out okay when
we can edit them. PS they don't have to worry about
erosion as the St Lawrence river was carved from glaciers and many of
the islands and banks are granite.
