What a night we had at the concrete wall at the mouth if Balsam Lake. First a thunderstorm woke us up in the wee hours of the morning then the mosquitoes nearly bled us dry. Pete and Allen did not sleep a wink on their boat so by 5:30 in the morning, they cast off and crossed Balsam Lake to Rosedale Lock. Jerry slept through it all. At 6:30 I informed him that our buddies had been carried off by mosquitoes so we headed for the lock as well. They don't open until 10 week days so we had a long wait. It was raining but mild and calm. Luckily when the lock opene, the sun came out.

The rest of the day was pleasant and we only had to transit three locks with long stretches of lakes In between. we are now tied to the blue line at Buckhorn. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow because the locks are only opened down to Burley Falls. Not sure when the water will recede enough to carry on.
