Docked at the St Peters Lock wall
St Peter's NS Canal Lock (Gateway from the Bras D'Or Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean)

We finally left Dundee in direction for the St-Peter’s canal, where we rafted to the lock walls for the night. It took us all of 4 hours to get there and the sail was smooth (we actually motored since there was very little wind). We walked around town for a while and stocked up on some much needed supplies (mostly beer, chips and chocolate). Came morning, we left at the first opening of the locks at 8:am and FINALLY set sail on our “official” departure from Cape Breton. YAY!!! We set a series of waypoints on course towards Country Harbour, raised the sails and cast off to the open seas (well we were actually in view of the coast at most times, but it sounds good doesn’t it). We were finally doing it!!!
